Album to ambient techno 2026
Distillery
Feed it an album; it returns a chordless ambient techno remix built from that album.
Distillery pulls an album off the NAS, analyses it with Essentia, separates drums with Demucs, and cuts the result into a large pool of short loops. Everything is retimed to 120 BPM and laid over a fully synthesised drone bed with no chords of its own, so the harmony you hear is entirely the source album's.
Five knobs control the whole build. One rule does most of the work: no two loops from the same song are allowed to overlap, which keeps the output from collapsing back into the record it came from.
